In St Quentin Cabaret Military Cemetery, Belgium is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1093 Corporal Henry Charlton serving in the Royal Army Medical Corp who died 03/08/1916.

In Elswick Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

Henry Charlton was in the 1st (Northumbrian) Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps and was attached to the 1st/4th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. He was the Grandson of John and Sarah Charlton, of Newcastle-on-Tyne.

He was a member of the Kingsley Terrace Primitive Methodist church.

Henry Charlton is remembered at Elswick on E35.15
