23rd April 1915, age 27.

Frederick A. Thornton was an ‘alias’ used by Frederick Archer Wilson when enlisting for active service.

He was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1888, the son of Robert William and Sarah Wilson.

Frederick enlisted at Newcastle with the 26th Battalion (3rd Tyneside Irish).
