9th November 1919 age 43.

Joseph was born on 27th November 1875, the son of Maggie and the late Christopher. He was the husband of Eliza Winter Smith, whom he married on 5th May 1907.

He enlisted with ‘D’ Company, 2nd Battalion and was ‘Mentioned in Despatches’.

Joseph received a gunshot wound (flesh) to the head and was admitted to hospital on 31st August 1918.

He later died at the Military Hospital, Cardiff from wounds received in action
