In Newcastle (St John Westgate & Elswick) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of:

29920 Private
G.P. Sinclair
Lincolnshire Regiment
20th December 1917, age 31.

George Patrick was born in the first quarter of 1886 at Newcastle upon Tyne, the son of Alexander and Martha (nee Brady) of 7 Sunderland Road, Newcastle.

He married Mary Elizabeth Burns at St John’s Church, Newcastle on 24th March 1916. Sadly, Mary died in the fourth quarter of 1918, at 7 Back Villa Place, Newcastle.

George initially enlisted as 28844, Private, Northumberland Fusiliers on 12th December 1915 but was transferred on the 8th August 1916 to Number 4 Company,12th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.

He was discharged on 31st March 1917 and died as a result of ‘general paralysis of the insane, aggravated by active service’.
