The Green Howards
19th March 1945, age 24.
In loving memory.
Youngest son of Thomas
and the late Joanna Rogerson.
He made the supreme sacrifice.
William was born in South Shields, although he resided in Newcastle upon Tyne. He served with the Green Howards (Alexandra, Princess of Wales’ Own Yorkshire Regiment), although he was attached to 11th West Yorkshires.
William died as the result of an accident and is listed on the Army Roll of Honour.
