George Michael Jordon was born at Newcastle upon Tyne on 20th December 1905, the son of George and Mary Catherine of Newcastle. George was the husband of Annie Louisa, 134 Sycamore Street, Newcastle.

He was originally employed as an apprentice boilermaker with Armstrong Whitworth, between 1921 and 1924.

George enlisted and was attested with the RAF on 16th January 1924, joining for a seven plus five year term. He re-enlisted at the outbreak of war and served with 59 Squadron based at R.A.F. Waterbeach.
