Thomas Edgar Bailiff was born on 16th July 1916 at Newcastle upon Tyne. According to the 1939 Register, he was living at 178 Stanton Street, Newcastle with his mother, Janet Thompson Price, a widow, and his sister Constance Ashton Roddis Price. His occupation was described as a ‘mechanic’.
Thomas served with 224 Squadron, based at RAF Leuchars during early 1941.
