9912 QMR Serjt.
E.S. Nicholson
Durham Light Infantry
13th July 1918, age 39.

Ernest Stanley was born in Elswick in the first quarter of 1879, the son of John James and Sarah (nee Boddy). He was the husband of Agnes (nee Baggaley), 57 Newlands Road, High West Jesmond, whom he married in the second quarter of 1902; and they had three children.

He enlisted in Gateshead with ‘D’ Company, 4th Battalion and died at home.
