In Newcastle (St John Westgate & Elswick) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of:

H.C. Hedger
Australian Munition Worker
12th July 1918.

Henry Charles was born in Guernsey in about 1897, the son of Mrs Hedger, 197 Parade, Hodwood, South Australia. He is recorded as Badge Number 555 in official records and arrived in Plymouth on 17th February 1917 before moving to Newcastle upon Tyne for work with Charlton & Co. He died in the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
