A true soldier and a man

Thomas was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, the son of Michael and Mary Ellen. At the time of enlisting he lived at 9 Barrack Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. He served with the 8th Battalion before being transferred to Depot Battalion in December 1915 and then the 2nd Garrison Battalion. He was discharged as a Lance Corporal and transferred to Class ‘Z’, Army Reserve.
