In Gosforth (St.Nicholas) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave of with a private headstone of 7263423 Corporal Cyril Firth, serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps who died 10/06/1943.

The headstone reads:-

In loving memory of
Cyril
beloved only son of
John T. and Jennie Firth
died June 10th 1943
in his 34th year.
Also the above Jennie Firth
died 13th July 1959 aged 77 years
and John T. Firth
died 5th Aug. 1960 aged 77 years.
