Lancelot was born on 1st February 1897. He was working as an apprentice grocer living with his father, Lancelot Brown at 3, North Avenue, Gosforth when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 25th August 1915.
He joined the Anson Battalion in France on 21st August 1916 and was invalided to the UK on 14th November 1916 suffering from shell shock.
Lancelot rejoined the Anson Battalion on 24th March 1917 and was killed in action on 28th April 1917.
He is remembered in Gosforth on G9.21
