At the going down
Of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them

Sidney Graham says:

Their Ship, the SS Greyfriars, belonging to the Newbigin Steam Shipping Company, was in a convoy bound for Blyth when it was attacked and damaged by enemy aircraft off the Humber Estuary. Norman and Thomas died as a result of this action.

This is one of the saddest war graves I have visited!

Father Thomas and his son Norman are remembered in Willington Quay on W56.04 and W56.12 slides 103 and 104 respectively, and on our List of Ships’ crews.
