In the Overloon Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 14518628 Private Harold Lucas, serving with 2nd Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment who died 16/10/1944.

Harold Lucas was born in 1924, the son of John W. and Florence Lucas, of West Hartlepool. They were residing at 66 Seaton Lane, West Hartlepool.

Harold had been educated at the Church Square School.

He was employed by Messrs Atkinson's Builders of Park Road.

Harold was killed in action on the 26th October 1944.

The Hartlepool Mail Monday, 30/10/1944 which reads:-

Mr. and Mrs. J. Lucas, of 66 Seaton Lane, West Hartlepool have received word that their son, Pte. H. Lucas (20), East Yorks, has been killed in action. Pte Lucas who had been in the Army for two and a half years, attended Church Square School, and was formerly employed by Messrs, Atkinson, builders of Park Road.

He is remembered in West Hartlepool on W111.55
