NER Railway Magazine page 37 1916

On the Loos Memorial is the name of 14665 Private James Henry Redpath, serving with the 7th Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers who died 25/09//1915.

North Eastern Railway Magazine, 1916 page 37 reports:

"Pte. James Henry Redpath, 7th Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers, Serial Number 14665 was killed in the battle of Loos on September 25th 1915, after being in France only a few weeks.

Mr, Redpath, who was only 19 years of age, had been in the N.E.R service three years, and prior to enlisting on September 4, 1914, was employed as fireman at West Hartlepool."

He resided at 46 Alfred Street, West Hartlepool.

He is remembered at Hartlepool on H115.09, in H115.30 at West Hartlepool on W111.54, he is also remembered on the York Railway Memorial.
