On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 751003 Leading Aircraftman Ernest Neptune Edwards, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 14/05/1940.

Ernest was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs Elizabeth Edwards of 16 Straker Street, Hartlepool, originally from Wingate, Co. Durham.

110 Squadron was briefly in India, where Blenheim aircraft were in use. Although an LAC, at this stage of the war he would have been flying as an air gunner.

Ernest Neptune Edwards is remembered in Hartlepool on H115.41, at West Hartlepool on W111.17 and W111.55 and also in 1939-1945 Military and Civilian Names
