In Brandhoek New Military Cemetery No.3 is the Commonwealth War Grave of 815080 Gunner Charles Stephen Frampton, serving with the Royal Field Artillery who died 29/09/1917.

He worked for South Shields Borough Council, and was employed as a Motorman for the Corporation tramway.

His unit was "D" Bty. 2nd Bde in the Royal Field Artillery.

His name is recorded in the South Shields Council Minutes for July to December 1917, page 541.

He is remembered at South Shields on S86.027 and S86.045
