He was one of four brothers who served. Walter and Thomas served with the King's Royal Rifles and Joseph was in the 25th Battalion, (2nd Tyneside Irish), Northumberland Fusiliers.
Arthur was called up at the beginning of the war and went with his regiment to France. He fought at Mons and Ypres. His widowed mother lived at the back of Percy Street.
Arthur Myers is remembered at South Shields on S86.027 and in S86.086 page 11.
