On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 1490330 Flight Sergeant Denis Carnaby Foster, serving with the Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve, who died 31/12/1944.

His sister Evelyn Vinsome wrote to say that Denis Carnaby Foster was reported missing on 31st December 1944, and subsequently presumed dead. At the time of his death they lived at (St. Aidan's Road, South Shields, having been bombed out of Sunderland.
