In Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 22/882 Lance Corporal William Davis serving with the 22nd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 25/06/1916.

Son of Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen Davis, of 23, Belle Vue Terrace. Tyne Dock, South Shields.

At Simonside St. Stephen's Churchyard is a headstone which reads:-

Blessed are the dead
which die in the Lord

In loving memory
of Henry
the beloved son of
William & Sarah Hall
of Harton Colliery
who died May 6th 1904
aged 52 years
also Elizabeth Ann Davis
niece of the above
who died July 31st 1906
aged 10 years
Also William Davis nephew of
the above who was killed in action
in France June 25th 1916 aged 27 years
