On the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France. is the name of 2936 Lance Corporal James Adam Jamieson serving with the 1st/4th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 15/09/1916.

In Westoe Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

Elizabeth E. daughter of
Robert and Mary Jamieson
died Aug. 26th 1902 aged 18 years
also Lewis S. son
died Sept. 23rd 1906 aged 18 years
James A. son killed in action in France
Sept. 15th 1916 aged 30 years
Also of the above
Mary Jamieson
died July 30th 1933 aged 82 years
also of the above
Robert Jamieson
died Jan. 6th 1940 aged 86 years

James Adam Jamieson is not remembered on a local War Memorial.
