Stanley Lawson
Stanley Lawson was the son of William Smith and Mary Ann Lawson, South Shields.
The picture was sent in by Ian Devlin, whose mother lived near Flight Sergeant Lawson in South Shields, and played with him as a child.
Flight Sergeant Lawson was serving with the Desert Air Force. He was flying in an Argus II FS646 with LAC R.G. Clarke in an unauthorized flight over Venice when the engine failed and the aircraft crashed in the water. Both men died.
