Roland Bainbridge, 16th Battalion Middlesex Regiment Public Schools was born 20th January 1893.
He was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Bainbridge and husband of the late Annie Bainbridge.
In 1901 the census shows him residing at 22 Talbot Road, Tyne Dock but by 1911, had moved to 68 Croft Avenue.
He attended the Stanhope Road elementary school and then was awarded a scholarship to the Boys High School. He was killed on the 1st July 1916. Aged 23.
He is remembered in Harton on H104.03 and at South Shields on S86.009, S86.024 and S86.43
