Peter Hoy gives his full names as Cecil James Stanley Thompson, and adds that he was born on October 10th 1896 and attended the Wesleyan School in Hebburn, leaving in 1909.
Tony Olszowski says:
He was the boyfriend of my wife's grandmother, Ellen Sharpe. Before he was sadly killed in the Dardanelles he had made a sweetheart chest in the form of a carved wooden box engraved with her initials "N.S." (Nellie Sharpe). Nellie lived at 33-35 Hedley Street, being the daughter of Daniel Sharpe.
Tony has also provided a card which shows that Cecil's father was Frank Thompson of 49 Price Street, Hebburn on Tyne; he was 5 ft 5½ ins high, his chest was 36½ ins when inflated. He had medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes, and a scar over his right eye. He had been an apprentice carpenter. He entered the services on September 11th 1914 and was awarded a 1914-15 Star.
Cecil James Stanley Thompson is remembered in Hebburn on H93.35, H93.44 and H93.51
