Coulson, T., A/Smn., 1917
In Boulogne Eastern Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of KP/799 Able Seaman Thomas Coulson, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 27/4/1917.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Thomas was born on may 25th 1887 and was working as a miner living at 27, James Lane, Hebburn-on-Tyne when he enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers on September 4th 1914. His next of kin was noted as his father, Mark, living at Burradon Colliery, Dudley.

Thomas transferred to the RNVR on September 10th 1914 and joined the Anson Battalion on November 3rd 1914 with whom he served until May 6th 1915 when he was hospitalised with a bayonet wound to the right shoulder. He rejoined the Anson Battalion on June 28th 1915 and served until October 20th 1915 when he was invalided to the UK suffering from Dysentery. Thomas rejoined the Anson Battalion in France on January 4th 1917 in France and died in No.1 Hospital Train on April 27th 1917 from wounds received the previous day.
