In Duisans British Cemetery, Etrul, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of M2/018984 Private John James Hutchinson serving with the Royal Army Service Corps, 611 Mechanical Transport Company Attached XVII Corps Heavy Brigade who died 10/04/1918.

Husband of Christina M. Hutchinson, of 77, Cuthbert St., Hebburn-on-Tyne, Co. Durham.

In Hebburn Cemetery is a family headstone which reads;-

Rev, David Youngson has submitted the following:

John James was born at Jarrow on Tyne in 1884 the son of John and Jane Hutchinson. In 1891 they were in Palmer Street and in 1901 at Oak Street. He was residing at Hebburn in 1914.

A Boiler Maker, he was Initiated on the 30th September 1914 into St Bede 1119 Lodge of Freemasons at Jarrow. There is no record of any further Advancement.

He enlisted at London. His medal card reads that he went to France 23rd November 1914. John James was the husband of Christina M. Hutchinson of 77 Cuthbert Street, Hebburn on Tyne.

He died on the 10th April 1918 aged 33 and is buried at Duisans British Cemetery, Etrul, France, Grave Reference V. G. 12.

John James Hutchinson is remembered at Hebburn on H93.12, at Jarrow Masonic Hall on J2.51 and in the Masonic Roll of Honour
