Bradley, J., Pte., 1915
In Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 9898 Private James Bradley, serving with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers who died 22/05/1915.

The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 16/03/1916 reports:

Mr. and Mrs. John Bradley, of 43 Frobisher Street, Hebburn, have received a letter from the War Office stating that their late son, Lance Corporal James Bradley, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was mentioned in a despatch from General Sir Ian Hamilton, dated June 12, 1915, for gallant and distinguished service in the field. The letter concludes: ‘I am to express to you the King’s high appreciation of these services, and to add that His Majesty trusts that their public acknowledgement may be of some consolation in your bereavement. (Signed) Colonel Smith, assistant military secretary.
