In Hebburn Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Second Lieutenant John Edward Quin serving with the No. 2 Fighting School, Royal Air Force who died 15/10/1918.

Son of Mrs. Agnes Quin (sic)

The headstone reads:-

In loving memory of
John Edward Eddie Quin 2nd Lieut. R.A.F.
was accidentally killed at Marske Oct. 15th 1918
aged 21 years
Also Samuel Quin
loving husband of Sarah A
born 20th July 1873 died 1st June 1944
also the above Sarah Annie
died 14th March 1957 aged 90 years
