Charles was the son of Mr and Mrs H. Allen
Charles Lowery Allen was born in 1922 at Newcastle. His mother’s maiden name was given as Young on his birth certificate. He was adopted by and was later adopted by Eugene Charles and Isabella Lowery. Eugene and Isabella Young had married in 1910 and in 1911 were living at at 13 Post Office Street, New Seaham with Isabella's widowed mother.
In 1927 the family were living at 2 Vane Terrace, Seaham. Charles Eugene Lowery died in 1930 aged 47 years. In 1939 Isabella and another was living at 11 Parkland Terrace Seaham.
Although this serviceman’s records are limited it would appear Charles was the leading aircraftsman on a Mosquito MM562 plane on August 1st 1944. There were 2 other crew members, the pilot Raymond Findlay and the navigator Frederick George Saunders. Although no details are given it appears the plane got into difficulties resulting in an accident. The accident happened in England as Charles is buried in New Seaham Cemetery.
