In Monk Hesleden Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Grave headstone which reads:

Prob. Flight Officer
R. Jones
Royal Air Force
14th September 1918 Age 18

He lives on earth
In thought and deed
as truly as in God's heaven.

He was the son of Robert and Mary Ellen Jones, of 6, Emberton Street, Chesterton, Staffs.
