In Reninghelst New Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 255824 Sapper E.R. Fleetham, serving with the 23rd Railway Miscellaneous Trades Company, Royal Engineers who died 21/10/1917.

Ernest Randolph Fleetham was a fitter employed at the Darlington Locomotive Works, he was killed while serving as a sapper in the Rail Operating Department of the Royal Engineers. He had been with the North Eastern Railway from the age of 14.

Ernest Randolph Fleetham is remembered at Darlington on D40.34, at Harrowgate Hill on H145.02 and H145.03 and on the North Eastern Railway Memorial, at York
