On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 143375 Flying Officer Douglas Scott Green, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 11/06/1944.

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

The son of John Raddings Green and Mabel Ida Green of Stockton-on-Tees, he was born at Stockton-on-Tees in 1922. An NCO, he was commissioned Flying Officer (London Gazette 18th May 1943). He died on the 11th June 1944 aged 22 and is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, Panel 206.

Editor’s note: Records detailing unaccounted aircrew suggest that he was part of 83 Group Support Unit flying a Typhoon IB MN876 which failed to return from an air test and was presumed to have come down in the English Channel off Dungeness, Kent.
