On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Greaser Philip Scott Adams, serving with the Merchant Navy, who died 25/01/1943.

"My mother, Susannah Miller Wright, married Philip Scott Adams. They had a daughter, Dorothy, whom he never met but he knew about her. My mother never forgot him, and she used to go to Tower Hill with my sister to remember him together. This tradition is still kept going by my sister's daughter and her daughters."

Philip Scott Adams is remembered in Sunderland on S140.159 and on our List of Ships’ crews
