Residing at 16 Hunter Terrace, Sunderland he was Initiated into 80 St.John’s Lodge, Masonic Hall, Park Terrace, Sunderland, on 6th January 1903; Passed on 10th February 1903 and Raised on 22nd January 1904. He died on the 22nd February 1916 aged 56 and is remembered on the Tower Hill Memorial, London.
The S.S. Duckbridge (1491 GRT) was owned by Thomas L. Weiss of Newcastle and was sunk after hitting a mine six miles North of Straitie Point Cardiff en rout from Cardiff to an unknown destination. 19 of the crew were lost.
