John George Addison Watson was serving with 138 Sqdn and a crew member of Halifax V LL115 NF-A which set out on Operation Detective 3 setting course for France. On the return they encountered severe weather conditions and crashed into trees whilst attempting to land at Woodbridge, Suffolk.
