In Tyne Cot Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 28211 Private John Thomas Forster, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 03/10/1917.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Fatfield and enlisted in Washington.

His brother George also died in WW1.

John Thomas Forster (and George) are remembered at Washington as Foster on W96.01 and in the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance page 271.
