On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 983838 Sergeant Alan Lowther Walker, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 28/05/1941.

Sgt Walker was killed when Bristol Blenheim IV V6457 UX-T of 82 Squadron was lost on a mission to Heligoland. The Blenheim is presumed to have been lost over the North Sea, with the loss of its three crew members.

John Jones adds that the aircraft attacked a convoy near Heligoland. It crashed into the North Sea 130 km north-west of Texel at 15.45. The action was claimed by Oberleutnant Paul August Stolte of 3.JG1.

Alan Lowther Walker is remembered at Barnard Castle on B135.19 and B135.22
