William Kirby has submitted the following:-

William born 1887 at was the son of Robert and Mary Baines

William married Elizabeth Jane Maitland at St. Paul's West Pelton June 4th 1910.

In 1911 they were living at 15 Clifford Street West Stanley. William was a Coal Miner- Hewer.

He enlisted at and joined the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He embarked for France 2nd June 1915.

William died from wounds at the Military Hospital, Epsom 30th October 1918.

Recipient of the 1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
