He was born in Chester-le-Street but had enlisted in Sunderland.

Also GEORGE EDWARD WILKINSON son of the above died November 22nd 1903 aged 20 years
Also EDWARD son of the above Killed in Action in France 1917 (sic) aged 20 years
Also MARY ETHEL & WALTER MURRAY children of the above died in infancy
Also JOHN BIRD uncle of the above died November 22nd 1904 aged 79 years
