Royal Air Force
7th June 1944 Age 26

A Flower block beside the headstone reads:-

our dear son

Died on active
service June 7th 1944
aged 26 years

Albert was born in 1918 at Chester-le-Street. His parents were Walter and Ellen nee Syson Elgy.

In 1939 the family were living at 42 South Street South Pelaw, Chester-le-Street.

Albert married Iris Robinson in 1940.

Albert died at his mother-in-law's house at 9 Pelaw Square South Pelaw Chester-le-Street. Iris was a Leading Aircraft Woman in the Royal Air Force.
