William Kirby has submitted the following:-
Arthur Frederick Dowlen married Ethel Jewitt in 1912.
They had two surviving sons Norman Frederick born the 12th October 1912 at Low Fell Gateshead, and Charles Raymond was born 18th April 1918.
Arthur was an Electrician. He served in the Royal Air Force in 1918. Arthur died from pneumonia and influenza at home 49 Station Road, Fence Houses on the 16th February 1919.
Recipient of the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
His wife Ethel died in 1955 and is buried next to her parents at Ropery Lane.
Sacred to the memory of MARGARET loved wife of JOSEPH JEWITT Lumley Park who entered into rest March 31st 1919 aged 63 years
Also of the above JOSEPH entered into rest 8th October 1939 aged 83 years
MARY ANN JEWITT their daughter died 13th September 1966 aged 87 years
CHARLES JEWITT their son died 30th June 1971
And DOROTHY his dear wife died 9th December 1971
ETHEL DOWLEN their daughter entered into rest 5th December 1955 aged 66 years
