In Labourse Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Private 7547 William Landreth Thompson, serving with the The Buffs (East Kent Regiment) who died 22/04/1916.

William had enlisted in the 6th Battalion East Kent Battalion.

Private Thompson was shot for desertion in 1916. His sister fought for seventeen years to clear his name. He gets a brief mention in 'Shot at Dawn' Putkowski and Sykes; Leo Cooper Pen and Sword Books; 1993; ISBN 0 85052 295 1
