Jean Augustin Claessens was born on the 15th November 1886 at Pulle son of François Joseph and Anna Catharina Lembrechts. Jean was an agricultural worker. He enlisted on the 16th November 1916 height: 1 m 730 with the Service number 105/54431.

He died on the 20th November 1918 at Birtley Elisabethville and was buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
