In Gateshead East Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of M/287099 Private James Robson French serving with the Reserve Depot Army Service Corps transferred to (342673) 471st Home Service Employment Company Labour Corps who died 04/12/1917.

Son of James and Barbara French; husband of Alice Ann French, of 119, Sunderland Rd., Gateshead.

The headstone reads:-

James Robson French committed suicide.
