Military Wedding.
A military wedding took place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bensham Road, Gateshead, yesterday, when Lieut. Charles Russell Hastings Ffollott, 11th Lincolnshire Regiment, was married to Miss Mary Eleanor Catherine Murray, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray, Lewisham, London. Many of the bridegroom’s fellow officers were present at the ceremony in addition to many personal friends. The service, which was choral, was conducted by the Rev. Father McDermott. Miss Mary Murray was the bridesmaid, Lieut. Cameron, 11th Lincolns, gave the bride away, and Lieut. Birkbeck, also of the 11th Lincolns, was the best man. Both the bridegroom and his best man fought under General Botha in the German West-African campaign, the former being wounded twice, whilat Lieut. Cameron fought in the Boer War, and has other campaigns.
The bride looked very pretty in a dress simply designed of white silk, and wedding veil trimmed with orange blossom. Her bridesmaid wore a dainty nigger brown chiffon dress, with hat to match, and both carried handsome bouquets. Mrs. FFollott, mother of the bridegroom, was dressed in champagne ?--- and wore a large black picture hat decorated with pink roses.
After the ceremony a reception was held at Trinity Vicarage, Gateshead.
