J.C. Bennett
Royal Artillery
4th May 1941 Age 34.

Eternal rest
give unto him, O Lord
and let perpetual light
Shine upon him.

There is also a family kerbstone which reads:

Gun. John Cowen, R.A.
dearly beloved husband of
Mary Bennett.

Killed by enemy action
May 4th 1941, aged 34 years.
