In Serre Road Cemetery No.1 is the Commonwealth War Grave of 16413 Private Ralph Robson Stobbs, serving with the York and Lancaster Regiment who died 22/02/1917.

In Gateshead (Saltwell) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

who was killed in action 1917

He was the son of Matthew and Sarah Stobbs, husband of Mary Stobbs, of 63, Rodsley Avenue, Gateshead.
