In White House Cemetery, St. Jean-les-Ypres is the Commonwealth War Grave of Second Lieutenant Fred serving with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) who died 26/04/1918.

In Gateshead East Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

Second Lieut. Fred Heslop,
Beloved husband of Ann Heslop,
Son-in-Law of J. & E.A. Russell,
Killed in action April 26th 1918
Aged 23 years
Interred in White House St. Jean Military Cemetery
Ypres, Belgium
