In Gateshead East Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

loving memory of
Mary Eleanor
beloved daughter of
Joseph &
Alice Jane Ford
who died 18th Feb. 1939
aged 66 years.
George Frederick Ford
(late Bandmaster 9th D.L.I.)
beloved son of the above
who died 11th December. 1939
aged 63 years.
"Thy Will Be Done".
