He gave his life
That others may live

There is also a family headstone for Fisher which reads:

Beloved Husband of Irene
killed in action 20th January 1943
Aged 34 years
Irene Godwynne
wife of the above
died 9th August 1998
aged 86 years

Pilot Officer Fisher was serving with 85 Squadron. He was a crew member of a Mosquito II which was on Interception Patrol off Bradwell Bay. The aircraft crashed into the sea, killing both men.
